Hot Tub Maintenance Tips & Tricks
This Blog was posted on January 24, 2023 by HTSS.
Hot tubs are a great way to relax, entertain friends, and enjoy a good soak in the comfort of your own home. But, like any other equipment, they require maintenance to keep them running smoothly. Here are some hot tub maintenance tips and tricks that will help you maintain an optimal tub.
It’s important to make sure you have the proper chemical balance in your hot tub before use. This will help prevent bacteria and other contaminants from building up and causing problems. Whenever there is fallen debris in your hot tub, we recommend cleaning it out as soon as you see it. Then, test the pH and alkalinity of your hot tub water weekly and use products designed specifically for hot tubs to adjust as needed.
Recommended Cleaning Routine
Clean and inspect your hot tub regularly. Cleaning the interior and exterior of your hot tub regularly helps to keep it looking great and prevent the build-up of dirt and grime. You should also inspect your hot tub for any cracks or leaks. Clean the filter regularly. The filter helps to keep your hot tub fresh and free of debris. Replace the filter every few months to ensure peak performance. Check and adjust the pH levels using a test strip from the website. Healthy spa water should have a pH level reading between 7.2 and 7.8.
If the pH levels are too high, shock the water with chlorine or a non-chlorine shock to kill the bacteria. Keep the hot tub cover on when not in use. Keeping the cover on when not in use helps to keep the hot tub at it's peak state.
