How to Choose a Spa Umbrella Base
This Blog was posted on April 08, 2013 by HTSS.
There are different varieties of spa umbrellas on the market today. They all have the same purpose, which is to improve your spa experience by providing protection from the sun, snow and rain. While most people are concerned with the shape and style of the canopy, choosing the right spa umbrella stand or base is important too. The Spa Umbrella from Leisure Concepts that's available through our Hot Tub Spa Supplies store comes in two umbrella models, one with a freestanding base and one called a spa base with storage. They each have different features that are ideal for different situations. Which one you choose will depend on how you plan to use your Spa Umbrella.
Spa Base
The spa base is custom designed by Leisure Concepts to fit with a spa cabinet. The bottom of the base slides a short way underneath and is firmly attached to the side of your spa with wood screws and a custom clamp. This creates a sturdy and reliable umbrella placement that you won't have to move unless you want to remove the assembly altogether. The arm tube is adjustable and has a hand crank for positioning the umbrella when it's open. The Spa Umbrella spa base has a storage area with a lid and a handle for convenience.
Freestanding Base
If you have a large deck or patio, you might want more versatility from your Spa Umbrella. Leisure Concepts also offers a freestanding base, which gives you the option to move the whole umbrella at will. If the main purpose of your umbrella is to protect you from debris from above, like leaves from a tree or a light snowfall, you'll want the flexibility to move it around at will, depending on the weather and time of day. It can also be used for other activities, like sitting in a chaise lounge reading a book without unwanted sun exposure. Having the freestanding base allows you to move it where you want, when you want.
Keep in mind that Spa Umbrellas aren't meant to be used in windy weather. Breezes more than 10 miles per hour can damage the umbrella's skin, so be sure to keep it closed or stowed away in storage when it's windy so that it lasts longer.
