Power cord for Circulation Pump Silentflow 5000 and E5 Sillent, used for all Hot Spring and Tiger River Spas 1997 - Current
Important note: The Silent Flo 5000 replaces all previous style circulation pumps.
The circulation pump draws water through the circulation pump filter and then pushes it past the heater, flow switch (if equipped), bleedline, ozone injector (if equipped) and back into the spa through the heater return fitting. Its function is to circulate the water through the heater for the maintenance of temperature and to provide continuous filtration (if equipped) of the spa water.
The circulation pump is water lubricated and cooled and requires the presence of water at all times. These pumps should NOT be operated without water present in the spa. If "dry run", the pump has an internal safety device (thermal cut-off) that will automatically shut down the pump should it overheat.
On spas prior to 1999, the thermal cut-off automatically resets when the pump cools down. However, on all spas starting in 1999, the thermal cut-off will only reset when power is disconnected from the spa.
Minimum flow for the circulation pump is 1 gallon in 30 seconds.
Refer to the following instructions to install an electrical cord / ground on a no-cord SilentFlo 5000:
Remove the end cap of the new SilentFlo 5000 pump by removing the two slotted screws on the rear black panel.
Insert the stripped ends of the cord through the rubber gasket on the end cap.
Connect the ground wire (green) to grounding lug located on the body of the pump.
The other two wires should be installed into the terminal block. The pump is not affected by the polarity of the incoming power, so either wire can be installed in either terminal. NOTE:Insure that excess wire does not protrude from the rear of the terminal block. Excessive wire will cause direct shorts.
After the wires are secure, reinstall the end cap using the two slotted screws.
If an exterior grounding wire exists, you must attach the exterior grounding lug with single screw (provided in kit). Then attach exterior grounding wire to exterior grounding lug.
