71980 Kit, Check Valve Assembly 1-1/2"
Check valve used on all Hot Spring models from 1989 to current, all Tiger River spas, and all Endless Pools from 2016-current.
The jet check valves allow water to flow only one direction. All jet check valves contain arrows which indicate the direction of flow.
The jet check valves are used in the SmartJet system to activate different jets in different jet menus.
The symptoms of a non-operative jet check valve are;
Water Leak - If water is leaking from around the jet check valve, it should be replaced.
Rattling - A rattling jet check valve indicates that water is not being allowed to flow properly past through the check valve. Verify the check valve is installed with the flow in the correct direction.
Low flow from any type of jet - The jet check valve could be clogged with debris or not closing properly.
Improper jet activation in specific jet menus - A specific jet menu may not have the correct jets operating. The jet check valve could be clogged with debris or not closing properly.Removal
- Disconnect power to the spa.
- Drain the spa.
- Access the jet check valve within the foam.
- Remove the jet check valve from the plumbing.
- Using couplings, hose and a new check valve. Glue the new jet check valve into position.
NOTE: Ensure the flow arrow is orientated the same direction as the original jet check valve.
